Tapping the Silver Maples.
I think we might be going to try to make our own maple syrup. This winter/spring. I am pretty sure I might regret it. I am not so stupid as to say, "How hard can it be?"
I actually did this once a year at a camp I work at for a few years. It was time consuming, but the kids always loved it...and the end result was delicious!

This is so very "Little House on the Prairie." Actually, "LH in the Big Woods." Jealous. And, um, good luck.
Hmmm...all I know about tapping is up here it is done in February. And it takes a LOT of tapped sap to make a little syrup.
The Gman would like to give this a try...keep us posted!
